In this clever and cynical police procedural, Detective Ras Agnew (Dean Winters) is forced to team up with the FBI's top cop, Special Agent Milton Chamberlain (Josh Duhamel). When a lack of resources and manpower forces him to assist a small-town police department. Uwatchfree is the best Website/Platform for Hollywood HD movies.

Unwittingly doing "good cop/bad cop" practice with the criminals of Battle Creek, Michigan, they also have plenty of time to hit each other over the head, giving a whole new, upside-down meaning to the buddy cop genre. "Battle Creek was a CBS crime drama that was canceled in the spring of 2015, midway through its first thirteen-episode season. The series was recently added to the Netflix streaming service and that's where I found it.

I liked his small but memorable role in Life on Mars

I will spare you the whining about how sad and unfair it is that the series has been canceled and focus on why it is still worth watching, whether it is thirteen, three, or three hundred episodes. I must start with the characters. They are both the beginning and the end of what sets this series apart from the many other crime series that have flooded the airwaves. I only started watching the series because it stars Dean Winters, who I liked in his small but memorable role in Life on Mars (and who didn't like the Allstate commercial for Mayhem?).

The role of a military man in the first three Transformers films

And then there is Josh Duhamel, who I have never taken seriously before, mainly because of his miserable, unnatural role as a military man in the first three Transformers films. Both are given a well-deserved chance to shine. If you don't immediately know who Russ is, because he's played by Dean Winters, I'll tell you who he is: the stereotypical tough, cynical detective with a hard, grim exterior..... and, apparently, an equally grim interior. He is a good cop who gets results (often based on the 'ends justify the means' principle), but he is not very popular, let alone universally loved, and not everybody likes him. Millet is the opposite.

The series and give it a lot of depth and humor

It is unreal how perfect it is. He doesn't miss a beat, he is kind and gentle to everyone he meets - even to the point of naivety. He follows the rules, never seems to make mistakes, and has all the tools and techniques at his disposal. That is why Russ does not like him so much. But Milt's relentless positivity is tainted and dishonest, and the only one who doesn't believe it is Russ, who is determined to expose what Milt suspects is his dark past. Several supporting characters form the basis of the series and give it a lot of depth and humor.

She is talented and handles as many cases as

The District Inspector (Janet McTeer) finally breaks the spell of all the police chiefs in crime films, as she plays a leader who not only prevents things but is assertive. FBI Chief Holly (Aubrey Dollar) is an interesting character; she is a genius and solves as many cases as the detectives. There is also a romantic tension with Russ that has its ups and downs. Erin (Liza Lapira) and Detective Aron (Grapevine) and Font (Kal Penn) and Niblet (Damon Herriman) with their carefully constructed personalities and ME (Meredith Eaton) is a rather stubborn, mean-spirited sidekick who is quite funny when she has her scenes with Milt, who she loves, and with Rush, who she hates, and Rush hates both, and Milt loves both.

Its face is a normal police series

In between all these fun relationships, they also solve a crime! On the face of it, this is a typical police series. Every week there's a new case to solve, clues and evidence to follow, suspects to interrogate, and so on, and so on, with Russo's insults and cynicism, and Milt's overly-dramatic inspirational speeches... and crazy comparisons between maple syrup and methamphetamine and police dogfights. The themes are serious and the stakes are very high - in some ways even darker than the usual serious drama.

This is an ironic interpretation

But the ubiquitous cynicism creates a depth and comedy that is quite unexpected and unique. It is almost a satirical work. It is an ironic commentary. He inserts clichés into the script, twists them a bit, and suddenly... It's Battle Creek. It's a subtle thing that doesn't compare to anything, but it's masterful. A vulgar cliché appears, but it becomes a non-cliché, so it's not vulgar, and it successfully conveys the idea that the original vulgar cliché was weird! And so the series is full of incredibly wonderfully touching moments that don't have to sacrifice humor because the humor was built in, allowing, indeed creating, an authentic moment.

As the season progressed so did the characters

If we start watching this series and fall in love with it, we will also fall in love with its ending. After falling in love with this series I was really worried about the weak ending, but luckily everything we wanted to see was completed - the mystery and tension between the characters grew as the season progressed and left nothing to be desired. Not that I would have hypothetically given up on more episodes. Hdmoviesflix is the best website for watching the latest movies. Those thirteen episodes were ultimately satisfying, and a series should end with a climax and unexplored ideas than to be tired and empty after a few seasons.
