Although I am not a Patch Adams, I do care about the well-being of my students, which is why I have compiled this list of 12 comedy films that may be overlooked. A few modern jokes are included, but you will find foreign jokes, sectarian jokes, and old jokes.
A good romantic interest
Groundhog Day (1993) - Phil Connors (Bill Murray) is a
disgruntled television man who has to co-host the annual Groundhog Day
celebrations in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. You can watch the latest movies and TV
shows at 1kmovies download for free. But imagines his surprise when a tropical storm surrounded his small town and
Phil suddenly found himself living that day over and over again. Murray is just
as clever as a clever joker who gets gradually redeemed, and Andy MacDowell
makes a good romantic interest.
Princess Bride (1987)
Created as a fairy tale read by a grandfather (Peter Falk)
to his ailing grandson (Fred Savage), The Princess Bride tells the story of Wesley
(Cary Ewes), a farmworker who tries to reunite with his wife. True love,
Buttercup (Robin Wright), after he was pronounced dead. But Buttercup is in the
hands of the corrupt Prince Humperdinck (Chris Sarandon), so Wesley should seek
help from the great Fezzes (Andre the Giant) and a Spaniard named Indigo
Montoya (Mandy Potemkin). A wonderful joke of all ages, with lots of love,
dreams, and action.
Arsenic and Old
Lace (1944)
Cary Grant plays Mortimer Brewster, a newlywed who learns
that her aunt and uncle are completely insane. Two aunts have been poisoning
older boys and burying them in the basement, and Mortimer's brother is sure to
be Teddy Roosevelt. But things get worse for Mortimer when another brother
arrives, Jonathan (Raymond Massey). As it happens, Jonathan is completely
mentally disturbed, and soon plans to assassinate the only stable family
member. Despite the horrific nature of the crimes committed, the film is
ridiculous (and very funny at that).
Perfect Crime
(2004)
A black comedy from Spain, The Perfect Crime, follows Rafael
(Guillermo Toledo), a store salesman seeking promotions. He also slept with
every woman in his department waiting for one: the local Lourdes (Monica Carver).
But when an accident suddenly reveals a new body, Rafael finds himself in debt
to Lourdes, and he intends to collect ... in return.
Big Lebo ski
(1998)
If you would like to hear the so-called "film of the
first episode of the online era," be sure to watch this comedy by Joel and
Ethan Cone. Jeff Bridges plays a major role as The Dude, a self-proclaimed
millionaire stone thrower with the same name who was placed on the web of
deception. Hardcore fans are attending an annual festival known as the Lebo ski
Fest, and the film is packed with cheap interviews. Starring John Goodman,
Steve Bascom, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Sam Elliott.
Kentucky Fried
Film (1977)
Before the Flight! And Naked Gun films, authors Jim
Abrahams, David Sucker, and Jerry Sucker created this comedy zany sketch
showcasing everything from instructional films to kung-Fu flicks. Unusual
actors include Bill Bixby, Tony Dow, Donald Sutherland, and George Allenby.
Directed by John Landis, who would later oversee successful comedy shows such
as National Lampoon's Animal House, Commercial Areas, and Three Amigos.
Hollywood
Shuffle (1987)
Robert Townsend directed, produced, co-wrote, and starred in
the story of the actor who is striving to make it big in Hollywood. Full of
humorous daydreams and criminals depicting imaginative roles that are often
given to a few people, the film paid with a credit card from Townsend. A
handful of tomorrow’s stars are emerging, including Keenan Ivory Wayans and
Damon Wayans.
The Kid (1921)
Tramp (Charlie Chaplin) takes an abandoned child (Jackie Cogan),
takes care of him, and teaches him the best points of being a com-man. But when
social workers try to split the duo, Tramp is willing to do whatever it takes
to be reunited. Like many old comedies from Chaplin, the film combines laughter
and moments of sadness with public comment. A quiet film, though, but don’t let
that stop you from discovering the magic of Chaplin.
Cabin Boy (1994)
Former writer David Letterman Chris Elliott plays the role
of Nathaniel May weather, a leading heir to the hotel industry. Wanting to
board Queen Catherine to Hawaii, he instead crosses a wreck fishing vessel
called the Dirty Whore. Now trapped in the ocean with an unhappy group
(including Brian Doyle-Murray and James Gammon), Nathaniel must win his
livestock and fight all the dangers of Hell's Bucket, including the envious
giant (Mike Starr), the snow monster, and the cake-loving cake. Although it is
a weird comedy, it should be suitable for those who have a taste for unusual
comedy.
Euro Trip (2004)
After discovering that her longtime friend who writes pen is
actually a pretty girl, Scotty Thomas (Scott Mechlowicz) who recently graduated
from high school headed to Germany to make things right. You can watch the latest
movies and TV shows at 1kmovies for free.
He is joined by three other friends (including Michelle Trachtenberg), and
their tour includes soccer clubs, loving Italians, and a nude beach full of men
only. View Matt Damon in the cameo as the band's top performer.
Soapdish (1991)
A series of comedy series is funny enough on its own, but
the film raises excitement by looking behind the scenes of the fictional drama
The Sun Has Gone Again. Notable actors include Sally Field, Robert Downey Jr.,
Kevin Kline, Whoopi Goldberg, Teri Hatcher, and Elizabeth Shoe.
